Jesus didn’t have alot to say about “the right to bear arms”. But he did have alot to say about loving your enemy & turning the other cheek.

Sometimes you can breathe and be yourself when you are alone. We all have a game face to put on in public. So many people would love to be authentic when they are among family and friends but often they have to play their part, know their role, to be the person others expect. This might sound cynical but its often true. It takes special people to allow you to be the person you want to be without ridicule. When you are alone you are responsible for caring for yourself and maybe a pet if you have one. I suck at being alone because I have an identity as a husband and that requires being in the company of the one I love. Being yourself when you are alone is something you can do but it can be a challenge too.
I hope to be as nerdy of the highest order about my work as reporter Alison Parker and photographer Adam Ward were about theirs. The two news pros who were taken from this life today leave the world entirely too early and less informed. May their spirit live on by every student of mass comm and journalism who will follow in their footsteps. They are just signing off for now, they will be seen again in eternity.
I hate guns, yeah I do.

From CBSNews.com – Alison Parker, 24, and Adam Ward, 27, a reporter and cameraman respectively for WDBJ-TV, died in the shooting, the station’s general manager, Jeff Marks, said during a broadcast later in the morning.
August 26th is National Dog Day and I want to celebrate our dog Cody for being a good boy. He is a big, lovable Labrador mix who enjoys toys, food, treats, playing and going outside. Cody also likes barking at stuff too which can be good and bad! Today is your day Cody and other dogs around the world too!
