Music Monday: The Voice 2015 Jordan Smith – Semifinals: “Somebody to Love”

Jordan Smith slayed in the last season of “The Voice” in every performance he did. The popular reality competition show returns tonight to US Television on NBC. Smith’s rendition of Queen’s “Somebody To Love” was the performance in my mind that clinched it for him in season 9. This season always has a bit of mystery and excitement.

Calling In Sick

I am rarely sick. But there are times when I don’t feel well and need to call in. Right now I don’t think I would want to be at work so I am home trying to get better. This morning I went to the doctor and I have a sinus infection that I got some meds for. My goal is to get back to work tomorrow. Fortunately I have sick time but you know I don’t want to use a lot of it. Calling in sick also means you have to work a lot harder to catch up. I am thankful I could take today off.

I Believe In Inclusion

Speaking as a person who has been on the outside of life looking in I know the value of being included. It’s my personal goal to be as inclusive as possible with people in my life. Being excluded from things sucks if you ask me. It’s human nature to want to be valued and needed.

One thing I have learned from my experience is that life is too short not to enjoy life. A lot of people on the fringes would like that same experience and consideration. So many times in my life I have heard about situations where people were having fun and I wasn’t a part of it. I want to be sure that people in my life know they are welcome and that they are valued and wanted.

The 2016 Academy Awards

Tonight is the annual rite of giving and receiving awards in the movie biz. Each year the Oscars let us dream a little and enjoy something fun.

Yeah, I admit I like seeing beautiful people give each other awards once or twice a year. It’s a very important part of the culture of our country. The Oscar’s offer a much needed diversion from the everyday. This year the election is playing out like a horror flick so we need something to take the politics off the screen for a few hours.
