Daily Prompt – Word Of The Day: Daddy

I still think of my father as a daddy. Yeah I am almost 50 but I still see my father through the eyes and heart of a kid. I don’t call him daddy but I prefer the word dad but you get where I am coming from. My daddy is slowing down and his health isn’t so good these days. Really, its hard for me to see the reality of seeing this man I have known all my life not be able to do the things he has always done. It’s all about aging at this point. Daddy you are still number one.

Happy Father’s Day!

Happy Father's Day Typographical Background

Happy Father’s Day to all those who are taking care of their families and the community. Some are doing double duty as mom and dad in one person and those folks are to be celebrated. There are those who don’t have children of their own but are fathering in different ways. For many this is a problematic day and may they find peace through it all. Love and peace to all the fathers of all kinds.

On This Father’s Day, Love To My Fathers

dadgranddad

These are the two most important men in my life, my father and my grandfather. On this Father’s Day I want them to know how grateful I am for their love, care and wisdom they have generously shared with me throughout my life. They taught me that it’s OK to be a loving and affectionate man and of course all the geeky and nerdy stuff too. I love you dad and granddad.
