I thought of this while trying to explain death to my kids when their grampa was dying: If you could talk to a baby still in the womb, you might tell him or her how everything they know is just to prepare them for a whole ‘nother kind of existence, with colors and weather and all kindsa stuff they can’t even imagine. The baby might say, “Hey that sounds cool but I like it right where I am, floating in fluid, sucking my thumb, listening to all the wonderful sounds… don’t change anything. I like it the way it is.”
But inevitably the baby is forced into the world we know, and all the wonders he or she once cared about are quickly forgotten as baby explores the amazing wonder of his/her new existence.
In the same way, I think, a whole ‘nother unimaginable state of being awaits us, and just like the womb, everything in this life was to prepare us for the next, full of wonders and beauty that are as impossible to describe as this world is to describe to a baby in the womb.
May your father’s journey be sweet, and may God give you peace and grace to endure the temporary loss of your dad – until you meet again.
It’s never easy Tony to see our loved ones approaching and encountering the transition from this current life on Earth. No doubt God’s grace is sufficient and we realize it more each time difficult situations arise. We are not exempt from the storms but God will go with us through them. Prayers for you and the family.
Make every day count, Tony. Read his favorite stories to him, play games or watch programs together, but most of all, talk. Talk about everything. And if possible, record it all.
Stay strong Tony, i know how hard it is for you and your loved ones… But stay strong!
Will keep you and your family in my prayers, sending you much love xx
Oh Tony it sad to lear of this change. Let’s keep faith for God’s fast approaching future. Your dad is in our prayers. God’s promises are the real life. Hang in there! ❤❤❤❤
