The Work Of Saving Lives In Times Of Chaos

It’s been a very challenging week at work. There’s something to be said about experience in situations like we have had to deal with in recent days. We answered the call.

The middle Tennessee tornadoes of Tuesday were devastating and people suffered in many ways. The blood bank I work for did their part in providing blood, platelets and plasma to those in need in the area. It challenged my coworkers and we pulled together.

My job is to get donors in to give blood and they did respond to our appeals. It’s unfortunate it takes a catastrophe to get people to act. Granted it was tough at times but helping to save lives was work worth doing. This is not my first crisis situation and it won’t be my last. I did my best this week and I hope it was good enough.
