Sunday Reflection: Where Are You Finding Peace?

My goodness its a wild and crazy world we are in. I can speak from experience the USA is full of chaos right now. Just go on the blogosphere or social media where people are bearing witness to how things are where they live. The year 2020 has been a time unlike any other in history where a whole lot of things are going down.

The question is where does one go to find some peace? You know to get away from the calamity of things. My priest posed the question about finding peace in your life this morning and in a Zoom meeting the answers were very personal and unique.

Some go into nature, some read, some will retreat to a favorite place if possible. There is a spiritual component where some will find prayer and meditation comforting. Worship or group gatherings can be helpful too. Being in tune with ones higher power can help calm the mind and soul. Yoga and other practices can benefit the mind and body simultaneously.

It’s true that people are overstimulated and overexposed to bad news and finding peace from that means turning off the TV and getting away from devices (yes that is hard for me to do).

Finding peace can be a simple thing if you let it. Getting out of your headspace and allowing your physical body to relax can help one unwind. Self care is important whatever that looks like to you.

Peace like a river, peace from turmoil, peace from the demands of life and peace that surpasses understanding, nirvana wherever one can find quiet for a time might help solve a lot of problems in the world. Being intentional about it is the key.

Peace to you all my dear friends.

Newsfeed Conversations On #Facebook and Maybe #Twitter

This Shrek themed meme has all sorts of truth in it. Masks, schools, elections and Hamilton are the leading topics of conversation and news in many of our social feeds. I know many folks who have logged off because of the chaos and negativity. There is a balance somewhere between being informed and preserving sanity.
