Sunday Reflection: Storytelling #sundaythoughts

One could say life is a story. Everything we do in life is recalled from memory to be told later on. Whether it comes from a book, music, movie, or in a campfire there is a tale worth telling.

Some of the great story tellers such as Shakespeare, Austen, Lewis, Twain, Haley, Swift, Paisley, Cash, Spielberg, Howard and Young and many more have captured our imagination and challenged us to think differently. We have learned much from their art and vision.

Family stories can be the most colorful and something that ties the past with the present and the future.

In scripture, the feeding of the five thousand is one where there are lots of characters to choose from. Jesus was doing some cool things to bring community together and performing a miracle in the process. Talking about a big fish story.

Blogging and social media are telling our stories in real time. We get to share our experiences in this life with one another as it happens. As a long-time blogger its quite fun to see how other people live and where they are coming from. Its like travelling without having to leave your home.

Movies are a way to share a story in a communal way where people can see different things from the same source. Videos from YouTube are an important part of giving voice to people and to offer instructions on how to navigate life.

Stories are important. We all have one. Let’s be sure to insure the transmission of our lives and culture into tomorrow. There is much to be learned from it all. Tell us the story good people.
