Yes we had scones this morning after celebrating Independence Day. It’s the right thing to do, right?
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup white sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¾ stick butter, cubed
- 1 egg, beaten
- ½ cup milk or half-and-half
- ½ cup dates (or other dried fruit)
- ¼ cup chopped pecans (or other nut)
