Most folks who are online use various services here and there for different reasons. My fellow blogger Sophie wrote about all the online accounts she has and it got me to thinking about all of mine. I seem to have no more than the next person but it still feels like I am available in a lot of places.
- For Blogging: I have WordPress, Tumblr and Blogger (although I rarely use Blogger anymore)
- Social Networking: It’s Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, Linked In
- Photo/Video Sharing: Flickr, Instagram, YouTube
- Special Interest: Linked In, Pinterest, LastFM
- Misc: Yahoo
It seems we live in a hyper-connected world where we know more about each other than we know about ourselves. Making connections can be fun but sometimes it can be a drag when you don’t care to reconnect with some from the past. These can be tools of productivity but they can be massive weapons of distractions. Be careful what you share too. Not everyone is nice. Beware of spammers and people who seek to cause chaos and harm.

Tony I know what you mean when you we know about others than we do of ourselves… Sometimes I worry so much about posting what has happened and I miss the what’s happening right now moments…. I try to catch myself and put the dam phone in my purse and lock it when when I’m out with my friends

I am guilty of spending more time with phone than with people. It can be rude at times I fear. It’s rude I know but you know how those devices can be addictive.

It can be very rude… I have a bad habit of having my phone out on the dinner table when I’m out with my husband … He generally puts up with me and sometimes it get to be too much and he says something

My wife does the same thing. Social media can be a terrific distraction in life.

I’m bad for online stuff. WordPress, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, StumbleUpon, Tumblr, I had Linked In and Pinterest but never used them much. I kind of like having all of these sites to escape to when life is boring. But it is annoying reaching for my phone 24/7 and just looking at them and not doing anything
