I love Firefly and I was a bit late watching it as well. I ignored the hype because I didn’t think I would like it but my brother made me watch a couple episodes and I was hooked.
I haven’t watched Castle yet but it’s on my impossibly long list of “TV shows to watch” Hope you continue to enjoy Firefly! 🙂

Castle is great! Firefly is like a western mixed with a sci fi show.
