Are there bots posing as blogs on WordPress? I get followed by blogs who have no content or are nothing but ad sites posing as blogs. I don’t wanna be followed by these blogs where there is nothing going on or perhaps they are just data mining…I hope I am making sense here.

I’ve had a lot of businesses follow me lately. I generally don’t follow them back. why would I want to follow something like that when we can follow a dazzling guy like you???

They cancelled schools today because of weather…well here in Chattanooga, TN there is no snow at all on the ground.

I’ve experienced the same thing too.
However I sometimes don’t know if it’s people who make WordPress accounts just to: like, comment or follow other people’s blogs, but aren’t actually active in making post and creating content themselves. Or if it’s literally just bots that pretty much have no reasoning to what they’re doing…it’s hard to tell.

Blogging to me is a two-way street. I am nervous when there is a blog following me without any posts of its own.

This happens to me too, Tony. I got on wordpress as part of a graduate class and discovered a new world of reading enjoyment. However, if I don’t keep a blog then I won’t have access to the reader. Perhaps some of these sites are happy readers and others have an agenda. I think wordpress can do a much better job sanctioning those who abuse the platform.

My wife has a virtually empty blog so she can read and comment on blogs she likes.
So yeah some are empty or vitrually for a reason.

There may be. I haven’t experienced this but I don’t doubt there are bots up here. Just like the fake accounts and troll accounts on social media.

Good question, Tony. I get them sometimes, too. I usually check if they have a blog or if it’s just ads. Pretty much never follow them at all.
