I’ve been trying to shoehorn myself into the beliefs of a particular denomination for over 20 years now but have given up. For my wife’s comfort, though, I continue to attend a church she likes. I have resigned myself to being the erstwhile gadfly who tries subtly to get others to come around to my way of thinking through use of insightful questions during Sunday school class. We were in 1 Corinthians 11 last weekend. I wondered aloud how verse 7 goes over in modern churches today. Nobody bit, and my question went over like a lead balloon.
