When I was 21 years old, two weeks after giving birth to my daughter, I wrestled a gun out of a madman’s hands, to save my toddler son and my infant daughter. Although the crazed gunman was much stronger than me, in my desperate fight to save my children, I managed to get the gun away from him, and then he took off running like a scared rabbit. Later I drove out to the lake, stood on the shore, and threw the gun as hard and as far as I could, into the lake. No, I did not want to keep it for protection. “Protection” was why that evil thing was in my house to begin with.
Next week, my granddaughter — the daughter of the daughter I fought the gunman to save — is graduating from Harvard. I am so thankful that an evil gun did not cut my baby’s life short. I am so thankful that my granddaughter had a chance to be born.
But the children who are losing their lives today because of evil guns. Oh dear Lord, dear Lord, please help us!
I’ve been arguing with someone all day today because here, down under, we had our first mass shooting in over 20 years. A family was murdered by their own family member. So, clearly “gun control” doesn’t work. The stupidity of it all!
Another day and another shooting. The civilization of carnage.

Me too, Tony. I hate guns with a passion.
