Hi there, my name is Tony Burgess (my friends call me T-Bird) from Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA. I am a believer, bleeding heart, idealist, and blogger. Daily Prompt: Invitation

All you have to do is ask. There is an invitation to each of us for communion, companionship and community. Having an open door and an open mind allows new things into ones life. Everyone has an invitation to experience life in a new way if they just say yes. Too many times we say no to things that might change us for the better. There are opportunities in abundance to help others and you don’t need an invite for that, just keep your eyes and heart open and you will find your way. Life is a party and we should all have an invite to it.

Something About Live And Love

No one should impose their gender biases against someone who is living their lives on their own terms. Too many people are discriminated against based upon their sexuality and gender by people who project their insecurities onto others.

As a white, heterosexual man I have no right to tell anyone who they should or shouldn’t love. Too many people who look like me have nothing better to do than to run the lives of others and to tell them that they are wrong for wanting to just live and love. To my fellow old white guys…stay out of the lives of people who you have no business being in the first place.

Love is love is love is love says Lin-Manuel Miranda and that should be enough for anyone. We are headed into times when people who have fought to be able to love who they choose are going to have it tough. They don’t need anymore grief or strife.

Love thy neighbor as thyself and perhaps we should seek to understand our neighbors for who they are and not who we want them to be. Maybe that would solve a few things.

Music Monday – U2 – Pride (In The Name Of Love)

In honor of Rev.Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, this song is profound and speaks to the truth he so wanted to share with the nation and the world.

Sometimes the calm, cool and collected approach in ones work can have more success than losing ones mind. Just saying.
