Most folks who are online use various services here and there for different reasons. My fellow blogger Sophie wrote about all the online accounts she has and it got me to thinking about all of mine. I seem to have no more than the next person but it still feels like I am available in a lot of places.
- For Blogging: I have WordPress, Tumblr and Blogger (although I rarely use Blogger anymore)
- Social Networking: It’s Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, Linked In
- Photo/Video Sharing: Flickr, Instagram, YouTube
- Special Interest: Linked In, Pinterest, LastFM
- Misc: Yahoo
It seems we live in a hyper-connected world where we know more about each other than we know about ourselves. Making connections can be fun but sometimes it can be a drag when you don’t care to reconnect with some from the past. These can be tools of productivity but they can be massive weapons of distractions. Be careful what you share too. Not everyone is nice. Beware of spammers and people who seek to cause chaos and harm.
