The World Has Been Serious Today
The world from my perspective has been serious today. With the tragedy in Nice, France to a national blood supply shortage to all the political games going on we are in a serious place globally and locally. This weekend is the one year anniversary of five servicemen dying here in Chattanooga by a local young man who became a terrorist (that is a word I am not fond of using but sometimes you have to).
I am a guy with a wacky sense of humor. My blog reflects that but sometimes you have to be serious. We have to focus on current events that are impacting our lives and sometimes that requires us being somber and sober about how we relate to the world.
As Jon Bon Jovi once sang we got to hold on to what we got and that is our loved ones and our friends. We have to come together to do great things that will make the bad stuff less loud. You do this by being creative, loving one another and sharing the light of your higher power. Be alive and laugh at the people who are making the world hard for us all. I am kind of tired of all the stuff going on. We need a break from it all. Hang in there good people. Stick together. We got this.
There’s A National Blood Supply Shortage And You Can Help
Across the United States there is a significant blood supply shortage. Donations are down this time of year. I work for Blood Assurance, a regional blood bank located in Chattanooga, TN and there is less than a one day supply of many blood types. All it takes is a serious trauma to wipe out inventory of available units. Recently in Orlando they experienced an emergency need of blood due to the night club shooting. On July 16th, 2015 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, five servicemen were killed by a terrorist at a local military center. Of those five there was sailor who was needed dozens of units of blood to give him a chance of survival.
Blood donations are important to individuals who have to have blood to survive whether it be a person in an accident, a cancer patient or someone who has lost blood due to a surgery. Every donation saves 3 lives but it does so much more for those who need it.
You can help and it doesn’t take much of your time. Contact your local blood bank and schedule a donation. Encourage those in your life who can to make a donation too. It’s about life and community. It’s a great way to make the world a better place by helping someone live. Blood is needed at all times, you never know when you might need it. No matter where you are in the world you can help save lives.

Hello good people it’s Thursday where I am and there are plenty of things ahead today. There are challenges at work that must be faced. I am reminded this is a new day with opportunities to make life interesting. Rejoice in today and in those who make it possible. So as I always say lets do this, whatever this is.

Super Ultra Nice
To be kind and nice even though you are looked at funny is a thing the world needs more of. Even when it means going overboard and doing more good things than some are used to. I like others sometimes more than myself. When you are super ultra nice you do so intentionally.
Status Update
It’s Wednesday evening and the week is almost done. Thank goodness. I am ready for Friday at 4:30 when I am done.
