Veteran’s Day 2015

To those heroes who wore dog tags a uniform and combat boots your service is appreciated today and everyday. Thank you.

Happy Diwali

(From Wikipedia) Diwali (or Deepavali, the “festival of lights”) is an ancient Hindu festival celebrated in autumn (northern hemisphere) or spring (southern hemisphere) every year. Diwali is one of the largest and brightest festivals in India. The festival spiritually signifies the victory of good over evil. The preparations and rituals typically extend over a five-day period, but the main festival night of Diwali coincides with the darkest, new moon night of the Hindu Lunisolar month Kartika. In the Gregorian calendar, Diwali falls between mid-October and mid-November.

To my fellow bloggers who observe Diwali I wish you a joyous celebration filled with light, love, peace and fun.

These are my two favorite veterans ever. My grandfather on the left served in the Navy while my dad on the right served in the Air Force. I thank them for their service to their country. These men are awesome!

(Please do not reblog, thank you.)

Please, won’t you be Tony’s neighbor?

Pro Tip: Filling A Bucket, One Bite At A Time

If your work requires “filling a bucket”, meaning you have a quota to make daily, can be a little daunting. The old metaphor of eating an elephant one bite at a time is helpful here. Break your task down into small increments, that way your task isn’t so big. This applies to anything in work or life. We often look at something in totality but if we take it in segments it works out better for us. Work smart, not hard I always say.

Making A Comeback

It’s great when you make a comeback after some adversity. You have to weather storms every so often on the job, and when things happen that gets you back on track, it’s quite awesome. Today was one of those comeback days. Struggling can reveal character and if you hold on good things can and will happen. When you comeback as a team it’s even better.
