Blogging About Reality From The Heart

Sometimes the only thing you can blog about is what is in your heart, and that is sometimes influenced by what is going on around you. It’s all good to be authentic and to react to what you are feeling about stuff. I like posts like that and bloggers who tell the story they want to tell. With everything going on, it’s time to speak up and speak out. Our blogs are our platform.

The Struggle Is So Real

Lots of people are struggling right now. It’s a matter of livelihoods, health care, hunger, affording stuff, and more. I don’t have an answer for it all. But I will say that in a prosperous country like the United States, none of this should be happening.

So many are paycheck to paycheck, and some aren’t even getting that. Life is hard for so many and having empathy, sympathy, and compassion are what can help. However, people are going hungry. Some face losing the roof over their heads. Getting seriously sick could bankrupt many. There needs to be a solution and fast.

Personally, I don’t think some in our government are equipped to do that. They are distracted on other things. So, I suppose we have to hang in there and do the best we can. Let’s hope for brighter days to come, and soon.

Be Humble, The Rest Will Speak For Itself

In the Gospel of Luke, it says all who exalt themselves will be humbled, but all who humble themselves will be exalted. That is a lesson for everyone, whether they are a believer or not. I think it’s better to be humble and allow your heart and soul to speak for itself, rather than having a fall from grace because you think you are better than anyone else.

We need to see more acts of humility, kindness, service, and love. The culture is feeding on people who brag and think they are better because of wealth, social status, and power. Humility is power if you think about it. Every Easter in many churches, the act of foot washing is an example of what it means to do something good for others.

The Pope is saying there needs to be more acts of service to others. I can dig that. I do my best to be of service. We need more servants because too many people are trying to be in charge. Everyone talks about leadership when we need servanthood. My goal is to be a servant who doesn’t always get it right on the first try. I hope you will adopt that way of living too.

Be humble, it’s a better look for everyone involved.

Go Toronto Blue Jays in The Major League Baseball World Series

It’s Friday and game one of the World Series is tonight. American League champion Toronto Blue Jays are taking on the National League champion Los Angeles Dodgers. The game will be in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I will be cheering on The Blue Jays for many reasons. I hope the Jays can win it all!

Hello Tuesday

Hello good people, have a donut on a Tuesday. Have a great day.

Happy Diwali – The Festival of Lights

Diwali, also called Deepavali or Deepawali, is the Hindu festival of lights, with variations celebrated in other Indian religions such as Jainism and Sikhism. It symbolizes the spiritual victory of Dharma over Adharma, light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. This festival is as important to Hindus as the Christmas holiday is to Christians.

To all celebrating, may you lead us all into the light and to celebrate light over darkness in these times in which we live.
