Happy Labor Day Monday!

To all those who work and have worked thank you for your service and sacrifice. You are the heroes that keep our world moving. A special shout out to those who have worked in tough situations during the pandemic, we see you doing your best. Rock on!

Something Funny To Begin The Week

This is truth for many of us. PJs are work clothes now.

Sunday Reflection – A Ramble On Life In Abundance #SundayThoughts

The life we are living time continues to march on. We have adapted to a new reality and have changed in the process. The weather where I am is getting a little cooler in the mornings which is nice but the days are still very warm and humid. Life is crazy in many ways.

We are still in a survival mode due to the pandemic and some fear for their lives because of the color of their skin or who they love. Those realities can not be dismissed easily.

Loving your neighbor for who they are is still a good rule of thumb to navigate these days when many of us are on edge. My friends, we are living in tomorrow’s history today. What we do now has a ripple effect on eternity. Are we willing to do those things that can ensure a brighter future?

We have to come together or at least try to as to preserve our ways of life because there are different ways of living in this life. Life, liberty, happiness are three basics that everyone should have in abundance. What are we doing to make those basics available to everyone? Isn’t life better when everyone has their fair share? May this Sunday be the start of that effort.

Peace to you all.

It’s Only A Game

My college alma mater lost a (American) football game today. In the past I would be despondent, now I have more important things to be sad about. The world is burning and that has a higher priority over sports. It’s only a game.

Reflections On A Friends Funeral

Pardon me if this particular Saturday seems a little somber there is also some hope and perhaps some inspiration here.

At my friend’s funeral today, she was remembered fondly by her granddaughter and the minister for all the things in the gift that is life. It’s that memory that hopefully can give comfort and perhaps inspire us all to emulate the good things about that person.

Frances, who passed away on Wednesday was like an aunt to me. My grandmother and Frances were friends who did stuff like shopping together and enjoying fellowship in their church.

The big takeaway is that how much she did for others as a banker and worker in the church and with a local charity. In my life, I have tried to do things for others and think about serving where I could. After the funeral sermon today I feel like I have done good and I am doing good. Doing things that need doing are good things for all of us to do. I hope to honor those who have influenced me to do good by doing my best. Its all anyone can do in this life.
