As nice as it is, Wednesday is still not Friday. We are almost there everyone. Hang in there.

Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.
Harriet Tubman

Hate doesn’t bring people back. Love is the way forward.
Out of every tragedy, every calamity there is good that comes from better angels who just want to fix things and to restore them. Wholeness sometimes means going through something to make one better, stronger. Love can find its way in the chaos. We won’t see the positive at first but with time and patience we will see it revealed in a powerful and profound way.
Re-watching this somber movie about a serious day in world history.

This movie by Oliver Stone tells the story of a group of Port Authority Police officers surviving in the rubble of the destroyed World Trade Center on September 11, 20o1. Nicholas Cage puts in a fabulous performance as Sgt. John McLoughlin along with Michael Peña who plays Officer Will Jimeno. This movie is less about the cause of the events but about the people who were doing their jobs that tragic day. Maria Bello and Maggie Gyllenhaal show the angst and waiting that many spouses felt that day as they waited for word about the fate of their loved ones.
It has been a weird day with all that has gone on. We are getting some of the remnants of Hurricane Irma so the weather has been yucky with rain and wind. This is also the anniversary of the attacks of September 11, 2001 plus it was a Monday. At work I felt off kilter, out of sync, kind of blue but there is nothing new there. Mama said there would be days like this and she is so right. Not every day is going to go your way. You will have some days that everything doesn’t feel right.
Tonight the weather is going to be rainy and windy and very seasonal and that is due to Irma. It even caused Zumba to be cancelled.
Not sure what tonight is going to hold. All I know is that there are people to the south of where I am who are suffering tonight. Cleanup from Hurricane Harvey is still going on. That is something that will weigh on the hearts of people all over the country.
As the Bangles once sang “It’s Another Manic Monday”. They couldn’t have been more right about today.
