Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there from all varieties. Some dads are adopted and honorary. Some moms are both mom and dad. Some dads are pet dads. Some have complicated relations with their dads.
I want to say Happy Father’s Day to my dad, granddad, and grandpa, who I celebrate today. Thank you both for being great men who I will always love. I miss you both very much. We miss you both very much. Heaven is full of wonderful dads who are remembered today.
World Blood Donor Day was established in 2004 by several organizations including the World Health Organization in order to raise awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products, and to thank blood donors for their voluntary, life-saving gifts of blood. Every single blood or plasma donation is a precious lifesaving gift, and regular donation is the key to building a safe and sustainable supply. As a person who recruits donors for Blood Assurance, a regional blood bank serving Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama and Kentucky, it’s important to donate every 56 days.
Friday the 13th is about superstition and associated with bad luck. Be careful today and avoid going under ladders, breaking mirrors, and black cats today. Best wishes to us all today.
There is a lot of rebuilding needed in America. Imagine if those soldiers marching in a totally unnecessary and costly parade on Saturday, were put in communities to restore and renew places like Western North Carolina after being destroyed by a hurricane, what good could happen. But sure, feed the stupid ego of a man who has no honor or no idea of service to others. It’s nuts if you ask me.
Electricity is more of a necessity these days, but when you go without it for a while like many do, it is a definite luxury. This might sound like a first-world problem, but when we lost power last Saturday afternoon, it was not fun not having air conditioning and TV and Internet and access other stuff. So I am going to say electricity is what I can’t live without easily. I am grateful to the linemen and technicians who got our power back on late Sunday morning.
