Ashes are a sign of mortality and repentance. Remember that you are dust and to dust you will return. The season of Lent has begun. May those who observe have a time of reflection, renewal of spirit and self-denial. Peace to all in this time.
Today is the third Sunday of Advent – Known as “Gaudete,” (rejoice) Sunday, the pink candle in the Advent Wreath is a reminder of the explosive power of the season. To all who celebrate be sure to rejoice in the season.

Perhaps the Sunday after Easter is as important as Easter itself. It is a response to what a believer heard the Sunday before. Being in a community of faith is important not just at Easter and Christmas.
