All it took was one Jurassic Park movie to make me realize that no dinosaurs should ever be brought back. Not even the “cute” ones because that is a slippery slope that we should never slide down. They are best studied from the safety of paleontology and science books. Dinosaurs should remain extinct. We do however have birds that are a descendant of the raptor.
To quote Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) from the first Jurassic Park movie, “Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.”
We are a dog house. Our home has been blessed by our heavenly dogs, Mikey and Cody. A couple of years ago, we brought home a shelter dog named Frankie. All of our boys have been very good boys. Now, we don’t hate cats, but we love dogs. We also enjoy videos of doggos doing crazy things on the Internet.
I tend to get tunnel-visioned when it comes to the things I am interested in. When I am focused on doing something that fascinates me, I do lose all track of time and perhaps space. The one activity I can point to that sucks me in the most is blogging. Yep, blogging is my prime hobby and my greatest distraction. Everyone has things that make them lose track of time, and it is OK, sometimes.
My workday begins at 8:00 AM. So, I need to be up at 6:15 or so to make it to work on time or earlier. My alarm to wake up is set for 5:45 AM. I go to bed around 10:30 or 11:00 PM, depending on how sleepy I get. Now on Saturdays no alarm is set, and I slumber until I get hungry for breakfast. On Sunday’s I wake up around 7:30 to be at church. It’s all about routine and being flexible. Considering there are two of us, to get ready and to get going.
I show my gratitude by thanking those who help me. Part of expressing gratitude is returning the favor to others who have come to my aid as much as I can. Being a good person can be a way to express the gifts and talents you have been given. Gratitude is something you focus in on to be a more complete person. Always be willing to serve as you are being served. Loving one another and having a good attitude is a good thing to practice too.
Electricity is more of a necessity these days, but when you go without it for a while like many do, it is a definite luxury. This might sound like a first-world problem, but when we lost power last Saturday afternoon, it was not fun not having air conditioning and TV and Internet and access other stuff. So I am going to say electricity is what I can’t live without easily. I am grateful to the linemen and technicians who got our power back on late Sunday morning.
