The Hunger Games – The Ballad Of Songbirds and Snakes

Watching The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes because it’s a fictional dystopia vs. real life dystopia. This origin story of President Snow and the early days of the Hunger Games is a cautionary tale and shouldn’t be a plan for the future. It’s about fascism and injustice. This movie is a great prequel to the original Hunger Games movies.

Songbirds and Snakes, The Prequel To The Hunger Games

The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is a dystopian action-adventure novel by the American author Suzanne Collins. It is a prequel to the original The Hunger Games trilogy, set 64 years before the first novel’s events.

The prequel movie to this book was terrific. It is thought-provoking, political, and full of familiar themes you found in the original movies. Tom Blyth is a terrific actor who takes you on a journey from a young Coriolanus Snow to the man who will eventually rule future Panem with an iron fist. This cast is rich in talent with Rachel Zegler, Peter Dinklage, Jason Schwartzman, and Academy Award winner Viola Davis. I look forward to future installments of this franchise.

Seeing this movie on the big screen is a good move. It’s worth the price of admission to your local motion picture house.

Saturday Night Cinema – The Hunger Games

A terrific trilogy of survival and corrupt politics. May the odds be ever in your favor. This is what catapulted Jennifer Lawrence to superstardom.

The Hunger Games For Real

Sometimes you are Haymitch Abernathy and other times you are Gale Hawthorne or Peta Mellark. There are also days when you are Katniss Everdeen. I hope to win the day-to-day Hunger Games. I just hope there is no President Snow to deal with. May the odds be ever in our favor.
