If you want a nice, tangy sauce to dip fries, onion rings, that sort of thing…this is for you.
There are literally hundreds of versions of this sauce, with about as many names for it. This one is mine.
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp black pepper (preferably fresh-ground)
- 1/4 tsp chili powder (optional)
Stir together well (I use a Pampered Chef prep bowl with lid because the measurements are marked on the side). Store in fridge until ready to use. You can also double it and mix in a pint jar; it should keep for a couple of weeks at least.
This sauce is great for fries, onion rings, tater tots, salmon or tuna patties, seafood, even as a salad dressing! You can easily adjust the ingredients to create a hibachi white sauce (e.g., soy sauce for the Worcestershire and add a dash of Sriracha).
