When you follow a fellow blogger here on WordPress is it possible for the connection to be broken without notice? I have followed many bloggers here and they have followed back…then days later they are following again.
If what I am posting is not to ones cup of tea I am fine with that. However if there is another reason I would like to know why?

It’s a known issue with an unknown root cause. It happens from time to time and I know the blogs I love to read so I know when I don’t see things for a few days go check. 🙂

i don’t know if this is what happened, but I have noticed that it’s very easy to click things on the app without meaning to. I have clicked follow on someone’s blog online and then seen on my app that I’m not following them, but when I click on follow again on the app it will say that I’ve unfollowed them. It’s weird.

Yes, they randomly drop for unknown reasons…I have to check the blogs I follow weekly to make sure I am still following everyone. 😲

I think its a glitch.. I had to go search for a few blog and i know i didn’t unfollow them.. i ended up following my own blog..lol

As it was already mentioned. There is a bug in the system which “unfollows” blogs from each other. We have no idea why and how that happens but it happens again and again. Also comments of approved followers often slip into the spam folder.

Not an expert, so can only speculate….I think it’s more to do with the Stats and motivation. Am sure being a techie you probably may see it the way I am looking at it. To me it seems that when the traffic to the blog drops or say there are no red dots on that little bell in the right hand corner of the screen…..the site comes to rescue 🙂 ….drops out old followers, then you go hunting for them, in the process you follow a few new and few others follow you……I know am letting my imaginations run toooo wild, may be this is Technically overthinking :)…but then you never know 🙂

Tony … I was just scrolling through my reader on my iPhone and realised I had clicked the unfollow tick next to your name while I was scrolling! Thought I would come and let you know and I see this post! 🙂
