Now my laptop is on the fritz. The screen started to distort and freeze up. On boot the splash screen distorted. So now I am down to my phone and tablet. I am not sure what to do. First world problems.

As an IT guy, I’d suggest connecting the laptop to a external display. If it is ok, then it is the display on the laptop if still screwed up the it is a system board issue likely and unless the laptop is new, not worth fixing…

I have a docking station, I’ll check that. I wouldn’t fix this laptop because of its age and it would cost more to fix than to replace.

When my laptops goes on freezing, I would flip it over and do a battery trick. Meaning removing the battery and putting it back in. This usually works.
