Remembering The Space Shuttle Challenger Crew 30 Years On

(From Wikipedia) The Space Shuttle Challenger disaster occurred on January 28, 1986, when the NASA Space Shuttle orbiter Challenger broke apart 73 seconds into its flight, leading to the deaths of its seven crew members.

I was a sophomore in High School when this tragedy occurred. This mission featured Christa McAuliffe who was to be the first teacher to go into space. We take time today to remember these brave souls who were doing what they loved to advance peace and knowledge.

  1. I was a freshman at my high school. And yes, we as people and as part of a nation got taken to school that day. Can’t have exploration and not have a sense of humility while doing so.
