I am not a big fan of the whole Zombie thing but this movie intrigued me and it was also our Valentine’s Day movie. Lily James of Downton Abbey and Matt Smith who played the 11th Doctor in Doctor Who are both in this mashup of Jane Austen’s great literary work and an adaptation by Seth Grahame-Smith. It’s a commentary on contemporary culture in the regency era of English history. There is a lot of violence and action with a little period romance thrown in for fun. Go check it out, you will enjoy it if you can stomach a lot of blood and fighthing.
My coworkers were so pumped about this. I should go see it.

I thought it was very true to Austen’s work and an interesting “mash-up” attempt with the zombie world much in the spirit of Abraham Lincoln – Vampire Hunter a while back. I thought the cast did a very good job…not as much action as hoped for. You should check out Hansel & Gretel – Witch Hunters if you haven’t seen it. That was a “very wild ride” in the spirit of these other movies.

My wife wants to know if you read the book “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies”?

I did not Tony. I did read the original back in the day but not the novel that inspired the film itself.

Saturday night movie….this flick is fun. If you like the classical literature with a fascination of The Walking Dead this is for you.
