Rambling About The United State of Affairs

Are things perfect in this union, no. Are they as horrible as some would say no. There is a new normal and we all have to live in it. The good old days are not coming back no matter how some will try to turn back the clock. Many in my country would do well to be happy with what they have and be grateful for the blessings they have. We still live in a world with poverty and war so perhaps it isn’t too bad in the USA. Unfortunately the United State of Affairs is at best fractured and factional and I am not sure about the future.

  1. Interesting points Tony.

It’s always been this way. We had a violent Civil War that was in the making for almost 75 years before it erupted and we have never really settled the important questions that caused that war….although we did
    abolish outright slavery.

There have never been a good old days. There were systems that worked better than the systems we have now but the factionalism is always there. Perhaps the only real way to resolve the matter is to let the country fragment into Nation States…but then we’d have to deal with
    with other problems.

  2. I don’t think we can ever just accept that this is the just how it is. Ignoring problems leads to worse problems.

Things get better when people pay attention. When people say things are wrong.

Accepting that things are bad but not so bad, isn’t helpful, its actually part of a slow decay toward making things worse.

The blithe feeling that things aren’t so bad is ignoring that thing ARE so bad for a good deal of the population. Our comfort does not negate their desperation.

  3. Time are always changing and it is important to remeber the past to avoid future mistakes in the present, yet, mistakes will be repeated.

The present is always better then 10, 20, 50, or 100 years ago. The amazing future is ahead and the change conversation will always remain.

Change is so significant, that I’m typing this response using an electronic device allowing people around the world to read.

    Now that’s progress. 🙂
