I’m wondering if I might be following too many people on WordPress.com. it’s becoming harder to keep up with you all. I’m sorry if I don’t get around to you sooner. How do you manage to do it when you have hundreds of blogs you like?

I created a separate email to be staying tuned at specific readers page.so everytime they upload i get a notification sent to my email inbox since i subscribed via email to their blogs.
Instead of coming to wordpress i just check in my inbox.
Hope this helps Tony. Cheers! – Cezane

I tried subscribing to email notifications once and had over a thousand emails in several days. I had to put an end to that. I still get email notifications for some blogs, but I mostly use the reader and pay attention to those blogs that visit my blog and click like so I pay it forward to them first.

It’s difficult to keep up with many people…I think most people understand — I try to visit everyone at least once a week.

Try creating Bookmarks for the blogs you visit regularly or bloggers who post often, so, even if you miss any updates, you can always visit them later.

I’m in the same boat. I just read what and when I can!

I feel you. What I’ve done in the last several months is try to visit blogs that visit my blog, but visiting an average of 25 blogs a day is too much on some days. I also go through the reader to visit all blogs that I subscribe to. On some days, that is really time consuming when one blog publishes multiple posts per day. So, I pay attention to the subject matter and visit only those posts that interest me. When my week is busy or I’m not feeling well, I try to catch up on weekends.

Glad you brought up this topic. I realized lately that I could not keep up with everyone all the time. I have cut myself some slack. I find the e mail updates helpful – it means I can check if I missed any of my regular followers.

Yes. I like to check my regular followers who support me so much. I love reading new blogs but when to stop adding to my list…

I’m in the same boat so I’m probably going to delete people that don’t blog as much or I’ve lost interest in their content.

I feel the same way. I often feel overwhelmed but then have to take a step back and realise that I can only read and comment on so much. And most people understand, ultimately we’re all in the same boat. Cheers. 🙂

I just do what time allows. I usually don’t read re-blogs, just original material (unless I have ample time). I have deleted some that tend to just re-blog information that is in the news and offer zero original content. Good luck!

I try to like posts during the week or maybe share a post at least once a month. But it’s hard to keep up. You guys have such great blogs and I don’t have enough time to keep up.

I think, as others have said, that we’re all in the same boat. I read as many as I can, whenever I get a chance. It’s not always easy to keep up, and it’s impossible to read every post. I certainly don’t expect everyone in my community to read every single post that I publish. We do what we can. 🙂

I just talked about this very topic last week. I began with a spreadsheet but after it got to a couple of hundred I had to use the reader but I like the idea one of your readers mentioned about bookmarking those blogs frequented more often and I’m going to create a folder for this because then it’s just a click of the button.

Honestly I have a few bloggers that are must read for me and I try to pop in on everyone else as often as possible. I’m pretty bad at it. The reader is awesome for trying to keep up. 🙂

haha 😀 It is difficult I agree. Sometimes when we go on a vacation or something it gets even worse. But then I visit most of the blogs I follow and comment/like on their posts I missed. Like I am doing now 😉

I think most active bloggers have the same challenge. As long as you check in fairly often (not always) and pay their post/s full attention so you can comment, I suspect we will be happy with that. I lose interest in people who never read any of my posts, as I know some people prefer the numbers to the give-and-take of blogging.
I also don’t want to find myself hitting “Like” without visiting a post. I once posted a blank page by accident and got many Likes, and not a single person alerted me to the blank page.

I sort of cycle through them. I read the ones I love best most often and then cycle through the rest so that I at least look at them one a month or so. You sure can’t read them all every day!
