I am looking forward to this! Beyond is the latest in the rebooted series of Star Trek films with J.J. Abrams as the producer/director. From what I hear this is pretty, pretty good. Let’s boldly go to the movies this afternoon.

I hope you enjoy your movie! We want to see this in the theatre as well (we often wait for distribution as I don’t always do well in theatres). As a side note, JJ Abrams produced this one but Justin Lin of Fast and Furious fame directed. Because of this people are saying it is more about the action than the characters. I am interested in your take on it.

It’s pretty good. Lots of action and jokes. I only fell asleep for 15 minutes.

Hmm. You’ll have to let us know what you think of the movie. While I enjoyed the first two, I grew a little tired when they took one of the most memorable moments in the original movie series and switched it up. Yes, they made it work for them, but…BE NEW NOW, please…(sorry, that’s just my shout into the creative ether)

The new one has a new villain who has a tie to early Starfleet. It raised the bar in terms of action and character development. The crew is older and wiser now.
