Christ came into the world not to destroy it but to save it. I think the scripture taken literally is not to take it seriously. As far as warm and fuzzy there is little warm and fuzzy about it. It requires us to put aside our own prejudices and fears to welcome people who are different from us. Unfortunately rigid interpretation is what has driven people away from the church at a very alarming rate. When we care more about dogma and the ancient world than we do about what is happening here and now is when we lose our way. I for one think God’s story is still being written and things change. He is still the son of God but perhaps we need to think of new possibilities.
Tony, this is very thought provoking. To think about it, since God made us to grow and change with the times, I am sure He can as well.

Yeah, we need to think about God going with people through time and space.

I agree. It’s something for the traditional Christians (is that a thing?) to truly consider. It’s the way for us to keep and spread the faith.
