A Wrinkle In Time – A Great Movie For Our Times

I am not much of a reader which is shocking to some but today I saw the movie “A Wrinkle In Time” based upon the book by Madeline L’engle. This story of expanding the universe, your mind and your heart resonated with me. We have a daughter and a son trying to bring their back home who has found his way across the universe based upon a discovery that connects its far ends. He ends up in the grips of an evil force that has kept him from the family for four years.

Three celestial beings, Mrs. Which, Mrs. Who and Mrs. Whatsit who are played by Oprah Winfrey, Mindy Kaling and Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon. guide newcomers Storm Reid, Levi Miller and Deric McCabe join veteran actors Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Michael Pena, Chris Pine and Zach Galifianakis in this adventure in space, time and most importantly love.

Ava DuVernay did a beautiful job making the story vibrant, colorful and dark when needed. We need to see more stories that empower young people and especially young women to become warriors for good in their own time and the universe. I recommend this to everyone. Movies like this are important and necessary in the dark times we live in.

  1. I am interested in your review which is contrary to the overall opinion by movie critics who in general do not think the producers did justice to the mystical quality of L’engle’s story. I plan to see it for myself so as to make a fair assessment!

  2. I don’t know anything about it so I want to ask.. is it more of a light hearted, happy movie? I don’t like dark, sad movies but if it’s a happy movie, I’ll go see it!
