Hello, It’s Gonna Be May All Month Long!

This meme comes around each May and its really funny. It’s based off the song by *NSYNC “It’s Going To Be Me”. At any rate lets hope for a great month of May ahead as we head into Summer in the Northern Hemisphere.

  1. Oh Tony… Thank you so much! LOL
This was much needed this morning, plus, I have to say that it just reminded me of how much I enjoyed NSynch back in the days 🙂 xx

  2. I only just found out about this meme, and it’s quite silly.

And yes, I was an N Sync superfan back in the day. To the point that when we got to see them perform at Red Hot & Boom 1998, I think I made my brother temporarily deaf from all the screaming. I even remember riding piggyback on my dad’s shoulders to watch them get into their limo after their set was over so they could go to their hotel, which I believe was an Embassy Suites just near the venue.

Red Hot & Boom is annual Independence Day event held just north of Orlando, over the Orange/Seminole County line in Altamonte Springs at a park surrounding a lake called Crane’s Roost Lake, every July 3rd. Our local Top 40 station, XL 106.7, presents a concert that takes place on a stage that is situated in the water, with a walkway to the shore in front of the stage, though the artists themselves are usually transported by boat. The spectators assemble in an amphitheater by the shoreline facing the stage, and those who aren’t in the amphitheater can hear the concert over speakers situated around the park. The artists who perform are usually up-and-comers who already have a bit of a fan base among the target audience of teenagers and young adults. The year that N Sync performed there, their first album had just been released in the United States (they had already been touring and performing in Europe for a couple of years before that and were actually pretty popular in Germany then; then again, Germany does have a thing for boy bands and girl groups, with some becoming popular there even after they fell out of fashion here in the urban and R&B-dominated 2000s) and had already done a Disney Channel concert special, not to mention that they had formed in the Orlando area, so they already had a special connection to our part of the country. (Their career, though, didn’t take off in earnest until a couple of years later, with the release of their second album…which this gal got as a present for her 13th birthday, because it was released just before my birthday that year.)

Phew 😅…that was a lot to talk about! It was Gonna Be May, now It Is May…so in a couple of days, May the Fourth be with you!
