I didn’t know much about it either but it’s important to recognize it even in today’s world of confusion.

It is so strange. When America was formed only white land owners could vote. Blacks were granted the vote after 1865 but because of Jim Crow laws this was delayed. Woman joined the ranks of voters around 1921. The last group to get the vote were Indians. Hopefully all the groups will get out and vote in this next election cycle.
