Self Care Massage

I had a proper pro massage today and it was great. During the message I had no idea how much stress and tension in my shoulders and neck. Believe me I will be having another because I need it every once and awhile.

  1. It is a great thing to have a professional tend to the tightness and inflammation of our muscles. Most of us forget our skin is a sensory organ, and when it is rubbed and stimulating the sensation can be very pleasant. Best wishes. Hugs

  2. glad you had a massage- and don’t forget regular workouts can have powerful effects on the body too – seriously – people forget this – but we align our body and shake out a lot of stress when we regularly “move” – and I am not saying cardio junkie – that is often too much – but massages are nice – and workouts are too

  3. Massage can be so amazingly health-promoting. It’s too bad more people don’t try it. My rheumatologist recommended it for my arthritis pain, and my regular doctor suggested it for migraine. A colleague once told me she couldn’t imagine letting anyone but her husband touch her “like that,” and I was shocked to think a modern professional woman had such a dirty notion of therapeutic massage.

Did you ever read my post about the “Beastie Ball” massager I use to combat headaches? A lacrosse ball works, too, but the nubs on this specialty tool offer the best self-care massage I’ve found yet. It’s also amazing how sometimes, to stop a headache, I need to roll out tension from a shoulder or even a hip. It’s all connected!

Beastie massage ball as portable preventative, and sometimes cure, for tension headaches and associated maladies
