A Moment Of Reality

Is it me or does the world just suck right now? I’m typically a positive person but I’m finding difficult to be that way at the moment. Right now things trouble me personally and globally. I guess I’m having a moment of reality where I am not up for being positive. Interesting.

  1. Us positive Peeps are allowed a down day too, Tony. I get feelings like that, especially when there doesn’t seem to be much to smile about in the coverage of the world news… and it doesn’t help when things aren’t quite right in your personal life either.
But let it go. You’ll find something to bring the positive bounce back, soon enough!

  2. I get this way sometimes, usually after seeing the morning news. Things are so wrong in the world today. But don’t forget there are also enough reasons to appreciate and enjoy yourself, even if at times they’re a bit harder to find.

  3. You’re not alone, Tony. We’re being bombarded by an ever increasing amount of bad news. Mass shootings everywhere, and way too many murders by guns in our inner cities—killing innocent men, women, AND SMALL CHILDREN. True, none of us are completely innocent (we’re all human after all), but does chaos and mass murder justify a young man, or groups angry action against society, or the killing of folks who never did a thing to them? Then there’s the politicians who refuse to act (for all manner of political reasons) and do their job—a job they were elected to do. Or, maybe they weren’t elected after all? Consider, that the larger majority of Americans didn’t vote for the guy who currently sits in the White House—or on his golf cart—and seems content to block any action to stop Russia from meddling in our elections, and all with the help of the majority of Republicans in the senate—who shall all be considered guilty of nothing less than treason. Still, it seems the greater number of Americans can do nothing but watch this travesty unfold, while we are also set up by the very same people to be human targets—just so they can offer hollow words of condolences and empty prayers. And all this, while laughing at us from behind closed doors, smoking fine cigars, and drinking expensive wines—on our tax dollar. Oh, and let’s not forget how the rich received a huge tax cut, but now get less on their returns, while those who can afford to play Wall Street get rich and have health care (Mitch McConnell and his broken arm?) when most Americans cannot afford their own medicine. If they even have health care1which, most do not, NOW. Yeah, it’s all very depressing, and not fake news either., and when we’re experiencing personal problems on top of all of that, it’s easy to get depressed. But, Tony, it’s like Mr. Rogers once said, when he repeated something his mother once told him, “Look for the helpers when things are scary, You will always find the helpers.’ And isn’t it true? So many people are saddened by what they’re seeing today, but, they’re also the ones who wanna help and do all they can when things are scary, or when folks are in need. They’re still are an awful lot of good people in the world, Tony—and I think you’re one of them. We’ve got each others back, and I think we offer what relief we can in these troubled times. Also, I believe they’re more helpers, than adversaries. That should provide us all reason for hope. :O)

  4. The world doesn’t suck, it’s the people. The people are what make up the world…so it’s not the world’s fault. The world just holds it together so people can live here…..
