There are times in our lives when we feel inadequate. Perhaps feel ill-equipped to do a task or something to help yourself out of a jam. My dad was so competent and confident in doing a lot of things and I wish a lot of that would have rubbed off on me a little. Perhaps it’s a self-esteem issue or something else entirely.
Whether it be changing a flat tire or a household repair there are a lot of things I cannot do. Of course, there are many other things I can do but of course in desperate times when you can’t seem to find the skills it makes you feel like you wish you would have paid more attention. I suppose we all feel like that but how do we shake it off?
Interesting. I was just writing about having the same general feelings of inadequacy.

Hmm… not sure I agree. I love this though, it’s making me think. I wonder, in all due respect to your lovely father — what you excel at that maybe your father would have be just as proud of, dare I say envious? We are all born with such unique and fantastic gifts, innate just to US. And I bet, without even knowing your father, he loved and craved some of your beautiful and unique gifts? Maybe? You are spectacular. Sensitive to others needs and so empathetic. Your courage to share daily and fully is inspiring and motivating. I don’t think you realize how influential and dynamic you really are. Let this be one person giving you notice! Much love to you my friend! Hugs.

Maybe your father didn’t always feel 100% confident, but did it anyway? That’s a possibility. I think we all feel a little doubtful sometimes.

Hi, Tony. I don’t think anyone feels 100% confident about themselves. It’s a daily struggle for most of us. Just keep being you.

I don’t think anyone is confident all the time. In general, I’m a confident person. But there are days when I don’t feel so confident. I think it’s just a part of being human.
How you shake it off is just to do the best you can and keep being yourself.

Hey! Its better late than never..
If you feel you want to master a skill which draws your attention the most, why wait?? Get at it right away.. however, feeling of inadequacy is okay.. coz we come across people who are better than us in many ways but then there are things in which we are better than many.. there no limit for learning and growing but feeling low and having a complexity is not necessary..

I think if we are fortunate to live log enough we find we have acquired more of our parents traits and strengths than we had previously thought we had! Not so good, some of the bad ones too.
