Forgiveness is hard. Sometimes forgiving someone is more of a journey and doesn’t happen instantly. Forgiving doesn’t always mean forgetting. We all have experiences where we are deeply hurt and we cannot forgive and that’s a very human thing. To err is human and to forgive is divine as the old saying goes. Reconciliation is a good thing but in some instances may never happen.
Right now some people have been harmed to the point where forgiveness is the furthest thing from their minds let alone their hearts. I know I am not perfect and I have made my share of mistakes and all can say is that forgiveness is a gift and it’s a hard thing to give.
Forgive as you have been forgiven if you can.
In my case, I am not keeping a grudge, but setting a boundary.

This is a good time to both ask for and give forgiveness… as Rosh Hashanah approaches ❤️

This may sound awful, but the only person I am committed to forgiving is myself. The offenders, I aim to forget.

It doesn’t sound awful. Maybe forgiving yourself can lead to forgiving others down the road. No judgement here.
