These View-Master toys were great. You put the picture disk in and look into it and you are somewhere else in the world. Maybe this inspired kids to think big and globally.

I still have mine! It’s older than the one pictured; it’s dark brown and once resided in my Grandma’s toy closet. A few years ago I even bought a bunch of vintage reels on eBay. I have to admit, I’m almost 60 and sometimes I still sit down and gaze at the world through my Viewmaster. 😀

Viewmasters are great! I remember from being about 10 some of the reels. There was a Tom Corbett Space Cadets one about visiting Mars. Some were “scenes from America” —
