This is probably the last thing you would be reading about today, but I am preparing for a colonoscopy which is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon. This involves a liquid diet for 24 or so hours and some stuff to clear things out. I should have had one when I turned 50 but due to circumstances I am just now getting around to it.
Sure there are worse things to get ready for like major surgery but alas I am taking this whole thing in stride. It’s helpful to see what’s going on inside you physically. After the procedure, I will have pancakes as a treat.
I’ll update you as things develop :).
Been there, done that – for me the initial clearing out was the worst part, and during the procedure itself I watched on the screen. Bit weird seeing your insides like that, but it was nice to know all was well. Good luck with your appointment tomorrow 🙂

Apparently, one of the side effects of the prep is a bad case of commaphobia.

Bwahaha, what is it about colonoscopies? Once you hit a certain age it’s just something we gotta talk about I guess. My mom spend 2 years talking about her first one. Then once she finally stopped bringing it up, she had another one scheduled hahah I guess it’s just a thing. Good luck though 🙂

Good for you. I recommend getting this scope done by anyone 50 or older. The life you save may be your own. I am a 21 year survivor of colorectal cancer and it was discovered in a colonoscopy!

I’m sorry I’m late reading this Tony but I hope it all went as well as possible! I’ve had a few of these things done – definitely not the nicest thing to go through but I’d always think about what I had to look forward to afterwards. For me it was usually cheesecake. I hope you enjoyed the pancakes! xx

Instead of pancakes it was Chinese food because protein was needed. You have been through a lot health wise and I hope you are doing well these days.
