The Biles Decision

When a person decides to do something especially when it’s in the public domain, if it’s for personal reasons there should be no debate, no questioning it. Empathy and sympathy are in short supply, so it seems. United States Olympic Gymnast Simone Biles decided what was in her best interest, period. Give the woman a break.

She didn’t make that choice to drop out lightly. Taking care of herself was the best decision she could ever make. Similar decisions are made every day by people not in the white-hot spotlight of competitive sports. Her supporters will be louder than her critics. At least we hope anyway.

Let’s see how things shake out for her in 2024. She will know what to do.

  1. It was pretty laughable to watch Charlie Kirk try to come for her, and Jenna Ellis “Esquire”. People shut that down pretty quickly, which was lovely to see. It’s should be noted that all those who are coming for her, haven’t actually done anything useful or anything for their country their entire lives. Team US Gymnastics still won Silver.

  2. I’m proud of her. She was so young the last Olympics and so many people built her up and helped force her to stay on that pedestal. She didn’t fall off, she stepped off and she’s is an amazing young woman for taking that step. There is another young girl who struck gold this year. I pray she’ll watch Simone and shy away from the press publicity so she can swim and go to college soul whole.
