Be a good person and not discuss politics and religion at work. It’s one of the worst places to do those things. I had a boss once who made me feel really uncomfortable about that sort of thing. Don’t discuss, it’s the thing to do.

A former client wanted to work together again. Then after a business lunch of him pushing his political agenda on me, I decided it was best not to.

Agreed! I’d even go so far as to suggest not discussing it outside dedicated spaces for the discussion, but I have to admit I have zero interest in discussing either on my everyday life, so my stance might be a tad radical.
Oh, that is so uncomfortable!
