Hi there, my name is Tony Burgess (my friends call me T-Bird) from Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA. I am a believer, bleeding heart, idealist, and blogger. I'm married to Laura the Soup Diva and a dog dad to Frankie, Cody, and Mikey. Daily I work for a blood bank recruiting donors. My blog is where I chronicle and curate the sacred, serious, and silly things in my life. I am a member of The Episcopal Church. Thank you for connecting with me. Grace, peace, and love!

National Hamburger Day

Tuesday, May 28, is National Hamburger Day, which comes near the end of National Hamburger Month. Tonight I made us homemade hamburgers with tater tots. We have had hamburgers for the last three days because of the Memorial Day observance.

Giving At The Office On A Tuesday

I donated blood at work today. Well I do work for a blood bank so giving blood at work is easy. I’m always glad to donate to save 3 lives at Blood Assurance.

Digital Purging

I have been doing some digital purging lately which is easier than real-world purging if you ask me. I have been going through my very old email and realizing it was a time capsule of my life over the past 15 years or so. Some memories have been good like emails from family and some things I am glad that are in the past so getting rid of those messages was good to do. On the practical side, it frees up some storage space which is always good. Have deleted thousands of old emails and I hope I don’t let it get out of control in the future. I am still not done though.

A Totally Random Thought

Remember back in the day when people had a bottle of scotch in their desk drawer for that day drinking pick-me-up? Those were the days.

Happy Fifth Anniversary All Elite Wrestling At Double Or Nothing

Tonight marks the fifth anniversary of the professional wrestling promotion All Elite Wrestling at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view event at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas. I have been a fan of AEW since the beginning and have enjoyed the slams and high-flying action each week on their shows like “Dynamite”, “Collision”, and “Rampage”. I won’t be watching the event tonight in person but will keep track of it through Threads and other sources on the web. To all those wrestlers past and present thank you for putting on great shows to give us all a little escape from our reality. Professional wrestling is awesome!

A Memorial Day Public Service Announcement

It is Memorial Day in America. That means there will be a 3-day weekend for most folks including those who work in our courts. As a courtesy remember the judge doesn’t come into Tuesday so don’t do anything to get yourself into trouble.
