Hi there, my name is Tony Burgess (my friends call me T-Bird) from Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA. I am a believer, bleeding heart, idealist, and blogger. I'm married to Laura the Soup Diva and a dog dad to Frankie, Cody, and Mikey. Daily I work for a blood bank recruiting donors. My blog is where I chronicle and curate the sacred, serious, and silly things in my life. I am a member of The Episcopal Church. Thank you for connecting with me. Grace, peace, and love!

It’s Cyber Monday #cybermonday

cybermonday2

Today is Cyber Monday which has become a popular way to shop and get good deals during the holiday season. Being able to shop from anywhere is fun. Thanks to Amazon, eBay, Etsy and the like you can order pretty much anything you might want for that special someone. To all those taking advantage of their devices to buy for friends and loved ones I hope you find something really nice.

Posting Frequency

Now that I am not on Facebook at the moment I might be posting to my blog more. That would increase the posting frequency. How do you feel about this? Would that make you unfollow me?

FB-FOMO (Facebook Fear Of Missing Out)

FOMO is the Fear Of Missing Out and its a real thing for some people. Add Facebook to that and you get FB-FOMO and that is why people stay so long. For me, I just need to break away to minimize the drama and all the stuff going on. Having a fear of missing someone’s posts or breaking personal news is not always a good thing. Maybe not knowing everything is a healthy way to approach life. Also, Facebook has some serious baggage like ads and how it tracks your activities in other places you go to. So I will miss some things but I think I am freer to express myself. So as we go along I will share more about what’s going on here and there during my self-imposed Facebook exile.

The First Sunday In Advent

Today is the first Sunday in Advent. This is a time of preparing for the coming of Christ. There is an opportunity to practice patience and reflection as Christmas is on its way. As the Holy Family made their way Bethlehem we are invited to journey along.

World AIDS Day takes place on the 1st December each year. It’s an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, to show support for people living with HIV, and to commemorate those who have died from an AIDS-related illness.
