Hi there, my name is Tony Burgess (my friends call me T-Bird) from Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA. I am a believer, bleeding heart, idealist, and blogger. I'm married to Laura the Soup Diva and a dog dad to Frankie, Cody, and Mikey. Daily I work for a blood bank recruiting donors. My blog is where I chronicle and curate the sacred, serious, and silly things in my life. I am a member of The Episcopal Church. Thank you for connecting with me. Grace, peace, and love!

Thought Of The Day

I want to be relevant and helpful to all those who are my family and friends.

Senior Discount At Dunkin

Went to Dunkin Donuts or I guess it’s just Dunkin as they are going by now for breakfast and I got a senior discount. Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate the gesture but I hope I don’t look or act my age. I’m still going for that hipster thing all the cool kids are doing these days. At least I hope I don’t come across as a grouchy old guy because that would so suck.

In full disclosure I am 50 and have my American Association of Retired Persons card but I don’t use it much.

Age is just a number, right?

Thought Of The Night

I am proud to be a product of the liberal media that informed me that there is a world out there bigger than I am and people who share this rock who mean as much to God as I do. If you know me then you know I am who I am because of those influences.

The Point Of Being Real

Being real is important. There’s a point to it. You never have to worry about sorting out who you are in everyday life. Authenticity is something you have to work at. Allowing others to see who you are is a good thing. The past few months have shown me that not filtering yourself can be cathartic.
