Hi there, my name is Tony Burgess (my friends call me T-Bird) from Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA. I am a believer, bleeding heart, idealist, and blogger. I'm married to Laura the Soup Diva and a dog dad to Frankie, Cody, and Mikey. Daily I work for a blood bank recruiting donors. My blog is where I chronicle and curate the sacred, serious, and silly things in my life. I am a member of The Episcopal Church. Thank you for connecting with me. Grace, peace, and love!

A Ramble About Sacrifice

Doing the right thing requires self-sacrifice and making decisions for the greater good. It is hard to do but necessary. Taking care of those you love is a higher priority when the occasion demands it.

Keeping Your Sense Of Humor

Laughter they say is the best medicine. I need to remember this as my family cares for my dad who is sick. Humor can be a good cathartic release to help you deal with the seriousness of the moment. As time marches on and things get tougher you will need to remember to have a positive release and a good laugh can help. With that being said I will post more of what I usually write about and include some things to make you chuckle.

Quote Of The Day

Let us touch the dying, the poor, the lonely and the unwanted according to the graces we have received and let us not be ashamed or slow to do the humble work… Mother Theresa

Things As It Should Be

The things I am feeling lately are weird. I don’t feel like everything is as it should be. Maybe that is the point of life is that the only thing you can ever count on is change. Everything you know and love goes through some form of transition into another time and space and things at it should be aren’t anymore.

Funny the way change manifests itself. What my family is going through is change we never ever expected. Alas here we are.
