As I approach 50 (yes its hard for me to believe too) making friends seems to be different than at other parts of life. The mechanics of it is the same but the opportunities are not the same as it was when I was younger. For me I try to be a good friend and I try to treat others the best I can. Age can be a number if you make it an issue but generational concerns can color a friendship.

Friendship is fluid and ones older friends are living their own lives and they aren’t always live locally. Facebook can help close the distance gap but proximity can’t be replicated digitally. As a people pleaser I want people to like me in the same way I like them but it doesn’t always happen. Making friends can be a challenge but that can make it worthwhile.
