Hi there, my name is Tony Burgess (my friends call me T-Bird) from Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA. I am a believer, bleeding heart, idealist, and blogger. I'm married to Laura the Soup Diva and a dog dad to Frankie, Cody, and Mikey. Daily I work for a blood bank recruiting donors. My blog is where I chronicle and curate the sacred, serious, and silly things in my life. I am a member of The Episcopal Church. Thank you for connecting with me. Grace, peace, and love!

OK My Dudes Out There

Men, it’s OK to be sensitive, caring, empathetic, loving, and humble. All of that is a strength, not a weakness. Right now dudes it’s time to allow ourselves to be vulnerable. I know it’s not easy, but good things in life are seldom easy. I just see the world is in need of a new sense of masculinity that is warm and welcoming to everyone. Of course, don’t let anyone take you for granted. I also think we need to have open hearts and bigger tables. That is just what I am thinking about today.

If Something Were Named After Me

Daily writing prompt
If you could have something named after you, what would it be?

I am a fairly humble person. However, if my ego would permit it, I wouldn’t mind having a church pew with my name engraved on a small plaque or something like that. I can’t image anything grander than that.

However, if I wanted to go bigger, perhaps a scholarship in my name for students with learning disabilities. Anything practical that can make lives better would be alright with me.

I don’t think I have done much in life to earn such a tribute, really. I’ll let others be the judge of that.

Quote Of The Day

Look for joy in your life; it’s not always easy to find.

The Hunger Games – The Ballad Of Songbirds and Snakes

Watching The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes because it’s a fictional dystopia vs. real life dystopia. This origin story of President Snow and the early days of the Hunger Games is a cautionary tale and shouldn’t be a plan for the future. It’s about fascism and injustice. This movie is a great prequel to the original Hunger Games movies.
